The "Labor of Love" Tennis Classic started 16 years ago as an effort to raise funds to meet the healthcare needs of our community. The tournament is played each year in late April or early May at Cedar Bluff Racquet Club and begins with a pre-tournament party at a private home on the Friday night preceding the tournament on Saturday. It is a mixed doubles tournament with A and B flights and each player has a minimum of three matches.
Winners of the tournament vie for weekend getaways, limo services to dinner, spa packages, teeth whitening processes and much more. More than 100 "Grand Slam" prizes are awarded including certificates to area restaurants, sporting good stores, clothing stores and much, much more. In addition, every player receives a "Goody Bag" with a tournament t-shirt from award-winning cartoonist Charlie Daniel, towels and other surprises.
