Mercy Wellnesse for Women Begins Healthy In The City Series

--June 4, 2009

Mercy Wellnesse for Women will present the first Healthy In The City lunch and learn program from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2009 at Café 4 on Market Square.

This informative discussion will be the first in a series of lunch and learn programs especially designed for women who work downtown. The featured speaker for this event is J. Caroline Haney-Weaver, M.D., an obstetrician and gynecologist. Lunch will be provided during the discussion.

"This program is a chance for women of all ages to openly discuss any health issues and concerns they may have," said Dr. Haney-Weaver. "Most women only see their personal doctor once a year, and the appointment is often so quick that they may not get a chance to ask questions they may have.

"We will be discussing the most talked about healthcare issues for women today, everything from breast health and periods to menopause and bladder control. No topic is off limits. And the best thing about addressing these issues in a group is that everyone learns from everyone else," added Dr. Haney-Weaver.

There is a registration fee of $5 for the event, which includes the lunch and a special gift. Door prizes will also be awarded. Space is limited, so please register by June 12 by calling 865-632-5200 or visit www.mercy.com and click on Classes and Events to register online.
