Eating Smart For Cancer Prevention

--August 18, 2009

Does grilled meat cause cancer?  Should I buy organic fruit and vegetables?  How important is fiber?  What about dietary supplements?

Answers to these questions and other information about the relationship between diet and cancer will be presented at the first in a series of Diet and Cancer programs that will be from noon-1 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at the Judy and Joe Johnson Conference Center at Baptist Hospital West off of Lovell Road.

The featured speaker in the Diet and Cancer program is Teresa McCusker, RD, LDN, the Mercy Cancer Centers dietitian.

“This seminar will help to separate fact from fiction as I bring the group through the most up-to-date research on lifestyle changes you can make to lower your cancer risk,” McCusker said.

Healthy snacks will be provided during the seminar and space is limited.  Please call Ask Mercy at 632-5200 (or toll free at 877-368-7362) by August 24 to register for the program.  Registration is also available online at www.mercy.com, following the links at Classes and Events.
