Your Plate and Your Prostate

--Sept. 15, 2009

The second in Mercy Cancer Centers’ Cancer and Diet series will focus on reducing the risk of prostate cancer through a healthy diet.

The program will be presented from noon - 1 pm, Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in the Atrium at the St. Mary’s North campus in Powell.  St. Mary’s North is located just east of I-75 at the Emory Road exit.

The featured speaker in the Diet and Cancer program is Teresa McCusker, RD, LDN, the Mercy Cancer Centers dietitian.

“For example, eating tomatoes, whether sliced on a sandwich or cooked in a casserole, can reduce a man’s risk of developing prostate cancer,” McCusker said.  “There has been a great amount of research done in the area of cancer and diet, and I hope that the people attending the session will learn that there is much you can put on your plate to help your prostate.”

A light, healthy lunch will be provided during the seminar and space is limited.  Please call Ask Mercy at 632-5200 (or toll free at 877-368-7362) by September 21 to register for the program.  Registration is also available online at www.mercy.com, following the links at Classes and Events.
