Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital has earned a five-star rating for quality from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The hospital’s 2022 rating demonstrated an advancement compared to its four-star the previous year.

Clermont Hospital’s five-star rating is an incredible achievement that places the hospital among the top facilities in the nation,” said Clermont Hospital President Shane Knisley. “This rating underscores Clermont Hospital’s commitment to consistently improving the quality care we provide our patients. This achievement was only possible due to the hard work, dedication and compassion of the nurses, doctors and staff of Clermont Hospital.”

CMS publishes ratings to help consumers compare hospitals by safety, quality and patient experiences. CMS updated its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2022, assigning ratings of one to five stars to more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide based on their performance across five areas of quality.

Publicly reported on the medicare.gov website, the Overall Hospital Rating is based on performance on several dozen inpatient and outpatient quality measures that are grouped into five groups – Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmissions, Patient Experience and Timely and Effective Care. The overall hospital rating is calculated using a summary score from these categories.
