Letter from the Program Director

Welcome to the Pharmacy Residency Program at The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health. Our one-year American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited program has been training pharmacy residents since 2004. Our program provides the knowledge and experiences that pharmacy practitioners need to face challenges in today’s complex health-care system, while also providing essential skills to meet the practice demands of the future.

The PGY1 pharmacy residency comprises three key areas: acute patient care, drug-use policy development, and practice management. These areas are represented through direct patient care rotations, clinical and didactic teaching activities, and completion of a longitudinal research project. Our mission is to provide our residents with comprehensive training to prepare them for a successful career as a clinical pharmacist.

The Department of Pharmacy takes great pride in its residency program and the high quality of resident graduates. By training at Mercy Health, you will join an experienced group of preceptors who are passionate about teaching. Thank you for your interest and consideration in our residency program.
