Mercy Health Opens Infusion Center at Harrison Medical Center for Convenience of Area Residents

(CINCINNATI; February 4, 2014) – Until now, residents of Harrison, Ohio, southeast Indiana and surrounding areas in need of infusion therapy and injections to manage health conditions faced a long drive and time off work for essential treatment.

Mercy Health, which provides compassionate quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that the Infusion Center at Mercy Health – Harrison Medical Center is open for the convenience of area residents.

“The Infusion Center at Mercy Health – Harrison Medical Center offers area residents a place to receive treatment without leaving the comfort of their community,” said Mercy Health’s Mary L. Hatridge MSN, RN Director of Nursing.

Services include:
• any injections, such as Vitamin B12 or vaccines
• Epogen, Aranesp, Neulasta or Neupogen injections which are used for treatment of oncology and chronic kidney disease patients
• Venofer infusions for iron replacement in patients who are low in iron and unable to tolerate taking iron pills.
• Reclast infusions and Prolia injections which are used in the treatment of osteoporosis.
• management, dressing changes and declotting of special IV lines such as portacaths and PICC lines
• blood draws from ports and PICC lines
• therapeutic phlebotomies for treatment of patients with hemochromatosis and polycythemia
