Mercy Health - Cincinnati Names Michael Kramer West Market President and CEO

(CINCINNATI; December 8, 2015) – Mercy Health – Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that Michael Kramer will serve as West Market President and CEO. He assumes the role after serving as Interim West Market President and CEO for nearly two months following the departure of Michael Stephens for a new position in Texas.

“I am pleased to announce that Michael Kramer has accepted the position of West Market President and CEO for Mercy Health,” said Mike Garfield, Mercy Health – Cincinnati Chief Operating Officer. “Michael has been serving in this role on an interim basis for more than two months and his leadership in the West Market, coupled with his experience, expertise and servant leadership qualities, were fundamental to his selection for this role.”

Most recently, Kramer served as the Cincinnati region’s vice president of business development and chief network integration officer. Before taking on those dual responsibilities, Kramer served as Chief Operating Officer for West Hospital and is very familiar with the West Market team, sites and services.

Over the past 13 years, Kramer has served in a variety of roles across the region, including director of finance for The Heart Institute at Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital and director of finance for Mercy Health – Anderson, Clermont, Mt. Airy and Western Hills Hospitals. He has served on or led teams focused on acquisitions and development and implementation of new service lines, as well as campus expansions, including those at Anderson Hospital and The Jewish Hospital. 

Michael joined Mercy Health in 2002. Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Business Administration and Master of Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University. He is a graduate of Catholic Health Partners Leadership Academy. Michael, his wife, three sons and daughter live in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
