Mercy Health - General, Laparoscopic and Vascular Surgery, West Receives Vascular Testing Accreditation from Intersocietal Accreditation Commission

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) has accredited the lab at Mercy Health – General, Laparoscopic and Vascular Surgery, West for three years for vascular testing in the following areas:
  • peripheral venous testing
  • extracranial cerebrovascular testing
  • peripheral arterial testing
The lab is located on the campus of Mercy Health - West Hospital in the practice of Mercy Health Physicians and vascular surgeons Richard Roedersheimer, MD, Robert Cranley, MD and Andrew Hearn, MD.

Cardiovascular diseases are the No. 1 cause of death in the United States. Early detection of life threatening heart disorders, stroke and other diseases is possible through the use of vascular testing procedures performed within hospitals, outpatient centers and physicians' offices.

"IAC accreditation follows a thorough review of our vascular lab's operations and technical components by a panel of experts, which we welcomed," said Cari Ogg, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Mercy Health Physicians - Cincinnati. "This accreditation assures our patients that our vascular lab team is providing them with the highest possible level of care."

Accreditation by the IAC is voluntary and is a "seal of approval" that patients can rely on as an indication that the IAC has carefully critiqued the facility on all facets of operation. The IAC grants accreditation only to those facilities that are found to be providing quality patient care, in compliance with national standards.
