The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health Offers Twice Monthly Walk with a Doc Sessions at Kenwood Towne Center in May

(CINCINNATI; May 5, 2016) – Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, compassionate, quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that The Jewish Hospital continues its free Walk with a Doc program at Kenwood Towne Center with two sessions in May.

The popular walks take place every other Thursday from 9-10 a.m. at the mall, which is located at 7875 Montgomery Road. Walkers will meet at The Jewish Hospital’s Walk with a Doc booth located in front of Anthropologie near Nordstrom’s inside entrance. New walkers get a free t-shirt and a pedometer to log their steps.

Mercy Health Physician and surgical oncologist Shyam Allamaneni, MD, who practices from Mercy Health - General Surgery and Surgical Oncology, Kenwood, located at 4760 East Galbraith Road, Suite 108, Cincinnati, OH 45236, leads the Thursday, May 12 walk from 9-10 a.m. and will provide practical information on colorectal cancer, including symptoms and different screening and treatment options.

Mercy Health Physician and family medicine practitioner Alexander Bingcang, DO, who practices from Mercy Health – Blue Ash Family Medicine, located at 4700 Galbraith Road, Suite 202, Cincinnati, OH 45236, leads the Thursday, May 26 walk from 9-10 a.m. He will provide information on nursing common sports injuries, including information on when to use ice, heat, rest, compression and elevation to help people return to daily activities.

Led by a variety of physicians and other health professionals representing a wide array of health, wellness and fitness-related expertise, the walks start with a brief and informative talk on the doctor’s or other health professional’s area of specialty before walking.

The program is free and does not require pre-registration. The walk schedule follows below:
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, May 12 and 26
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, June 9 and 23
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, July 14 and 28
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, August 11 and 25
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, September 8 and 22
• 9-10 a.m. Thursday, October 13 and 27
