Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital Hosts Health Fair and Medicare Information Session on Tuesday, November 29

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality care with compassion in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that Fairfield Hospital is presenting a free community health fair and Medicare information session on from 9 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, November 29. The event takes place in the Fairfield HealthPlex, located on the hospital campus at 3050 Mack Road, Fairfield 45014. It’s free to attend but please call 513-603-8601 today to reserve your spot. Free snacks and drinks will be available.

The Health Fair, hosted by Fairfield Hospital, runs from 9 a.m.-noon and attendees can learn about the following:

  • breast health 
  • wound care and diabetic health maintenance
  • acute rehabilitation services
  • smoking cessation and early detection lung cancer screenings

The Medicare session Q&A, hosted by the State of Ohio and Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), a division of the Ohio Department of Insurance, begins at 10 a.m. Attendees will come away with the information they need to understand their best insurance coverage options for 2017. Topics include:

  • Medicare’s annual open enrollment dates and information
  • ways to retain or return to original Medicare and shop for a stand-alone Part D prescription drug plan
  • ways to select a Medicare Advantage Plan, which provides comprehensive health benefits, typically including drug coverage
  • determine if coverage will continue to meet your health insurance needs
  • learn more about recent Medicare plan changes and financial assistance programs, which help pay prescription drug costs and Part B premiums
