Mercy Health - Cincinnati Names Tonya Carter Vice President of Human Resources

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality care with compassion in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that it has appointed Tonya Carter as vice president of Human Resources for the Cincinnati region.

Carter assumed the role in July following the retirement of Kathy Gubser. She reports to Maggie Lund, System Vice President of Human Resources, and serves on the senior leadership team for the Cincinnati region.

She is responsible for human resources operations for the Cincinnati region, which includes Mercy Health - Anderson, Clermont, Fairfield and West Hospitals, The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health and all Mercy Health sites within Cincinnati.

"Tonya is an experienced HR leader, whose work ethic coupled with her strong background in talent and performance management, succession planning and organizational structure and design will help Mercy Health – Cincinnati achieve its goals," said Lund.

Carter joins Mercy Health from Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, where she developed and implemented talent management and succession planning processes and also held leadership positions in other areas of HR.

She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Communications and Master's Degree in Human Resources Development from Xavier University. Carter holds Senior Professional Human Resources Certification and Green Belt Six Sigma Certification.

Carter is a lifelong Cincinnati resident and she and her two children live in Mason.
