To use services such as our health risk assessment surveys and health calculators, you must enter information about your health. This information is stored in a database, which is separate from our main site registration and cannot be used to personally identify you.

Email and other services

When you register for our email services, you need to provide your name and email address. Other services, like registering for a class, require additional information including an address and phone number. All personal information collected will follow the guidelines of the Notice of Privacy Practices. The mercy.com website offers a variety of features delivered by email. Only Mercy Health has access to these email lists; they are not shared with anyone else. You can remove your name from any lists you have registered for by using the opt-out process outlined in each email.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files written by our Internet server to your hard drive. These cookies help us tailor your experience at mercy.com. They save you time each time you visit by remembering your settings and preferences, as well as improving the speed of the site.

Information we collect and how we use it

The Mercy Health website does not collect or disclose information that identifies or that can be used to identify you personally. However, we do collect non-personal information for aggregate study so that we may assess the effectiveness of particular sections, pages and features of our website. Included among these types of non-personal information are the number of visits to specific pages and the length of those visits, as well as visitor IP addresses and browser information. We may use data obtained from cookies to tailor your experience at mercy.com, showing you content and advertising that may be of interest to you.

To request additional information using the Mercy Health website's Contact Us email form, you must provide your name and email address. Your name and email address will not be shared with any third parties. However, we do track the number of requests we have received for particular kinds of information via the Contact Us feature, so we can determine what additional information we may want to include on our website in the future.

To use the update notification registry feature in the Financial & Investor Information section of Mercy Health's website, you will need to provide your email address and additional contact information. The information you give us will not be shared with any third parties and will be used solely so that we may notify you by email when quarterly updates are made to information in this section of our website.

The Mercy Health website also allows you to submit an online resume in response to job openings at specific Mercy Health organizations that are posted on this website. By using this feature to submit your resume, you are automatically consenting to the reproduction, distribution, sharing and transmittal of your resume to the extent necessary to facilitate the normal hiring practices of the Mercy Health organization to which you have applied. We may share this information with any search firms we retain to help us fill positions.

The Mercy Health website includes links that allow you to pay online for services received at specific facilities within our regions. Payment information submitted via these online bill payment features does not come directly to the Mercy Health website. If you use our regions' online bill payment features, please read their privacy/security statements carefully.

The Mercy Health website provides physician profiles and in some cases the ability to book appointments directly online through a third-party provider who has their own terms of service and privacy policy. Please read their terms and policy carefully.

The Mercy Health website asks for your location so that we can customize the website content and experience to your where you are. The mercy.com website includes information for eight different regions throughout Ohio and Kentucky, so providing your location ensures you get the information most relevant to you. We then place a cookie on your device so that we remember your choice for location. We do not continuously track your location and no personally identifiable information is collected.

This site makes available moderated chats, message boards and mailing lists (collectively "Public Areas"). Please remember that any information that you disclose in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. We require all users to identify themselves and register with a Public Area prior to participation in any chat, message board or mailing list. You are allowed to select your own "screen name" but site administrators can identify the individual associated with each "screen name." This is for the purposes of administering these Public Areas.
