Program Overview

The PGY 2 Ambulatory Care Residency Program at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is designed to give the resident an opportunity to develop clinical expertise within the ambulatory clinical practice setting. The resident will be able to provide patient care that is evidence-based and coordinated around the specific needs of each patient. The resident is part of the healthcare team working to improve outcomes by maximizing medications benefits related to chronic diseases. 

Patient encounters are in the providers’ office, hospital, pharmacy, home and virtually. Throughout the year the resident will take an active role in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and COPD, precepting students, committee involvement and project management utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles.
