Melissa Watkins - Certified Healthcare CPD Professional

(Lima, July 30, 2015) – Melissa Watkins, continuing medical education (CME) coordinator at St. Rita’s Health Partners, passed the Certified Healthcare CPD Professional Exam earlier in July. According to the Commission for Certification of Healthcare CPD Professionals (CCHCP), this credential is awarded to candidates who document an acceptable level of education and experience in the field of Healthcare Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and achieve the minimum passing score on the examination. The CCHCP certification program verifies the knowledge and skills of Healthcare CPD staff and allows employers to monitor compliance with national CME guidelines. The certification extends for a period of three years.
Melissa Watkins has served as the CME coordinator for St. Rita’s Health Partners since 2007 and has led the LAMED (Lima Area Medical Education Development) program through two reaccreditation processes. In 2013, LAMED was awarded Accreditation with Commendation for a term of six years as a provider of continuing education for physicians, which is the highest accreditation awarded by the Ohio State Medical Association.
