St. Rita's hosting Robotics Student Experience at UNOH Event Center

(Lima, Oct. 19, 2015)- St. Rita's Health Partners will present the Robotics Student Experience on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the UNOH Event Center.

Approximately 170 students will attend from the following high schools: Ottawa-Glandorf, Celina, Kalida, Bath, Lima Senior, Delphos Jefferson, Shawnee and Wapakoneta. The following vendors will also be at the event: DaVinci, Coldwater Machine and the Lima YMCA Bean Bots.

The students will have the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions, including:
  • "Did you know" including a YouTube video explaining new technology and advancements in the field
  • Robotic surgeons showing a video of how the DaVinci robot works
  • OR nursing staff describing how they assist in robotic surgeries
  • YMCA Bean Bots demonstrating the robots built for competition by YMCA students
  • Coldwater Machine Company explaining how robots are used in manufacturing
  • DaVinci Robot simulator and information stations, including a hands-on experience for students


The Robotics Student Experience is an event allowing local high school students who are involved in their school's robotic program or just interested in a future in robotics to undergo a hands-on learning experience. Students will have the opportunity to network with St. Rita's robotic surgery team. They will also learn about future technology advancements and gather information about how robotics are used in the manufacturing industry today.
