HeartChase to Kick-off in Downtown Lima

(Lima, September 15, 2016) On Saturday, September 17, Lima HeartChase will be in full swing in downtown. Lima and the surrounding communities will take part in this interactive challenge to chase away heart disease and support the American Heart Association. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. outside of the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center, and HeartChase will officially kick-off at 10 a.m.We are excited to bring this event back to the community for the fourth year in a row, said Beth Keehn, Director of Marketing and Communications at St. Ritas. Many people have been touched by heart disease in some way whether theyre dealing with it personally, or may have a friend or relative who has been affected. HeartChase provides an opportunity to increase awareness and know that you are not alone.

HeartChase is a timed, interactive game that takes teams of two to five people to different parts of downtown. At each stop, they will face checkpoint challenges and locate Power Ups, while earning points on their HeartChase Mobile Game app. Challenges are fun, but also educate individuals on healthy lifestyle choices.

Teams were also challenged to fundraise leading up to this event to earn advantage points on game day. The team with the most points when time is up, and other awards including top fundraiser, will be recognized after the chase.

Money raised through HeartChase will benefit the American Heart Association whose mission is to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
