Program Overview

The Mercy Integrated Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) program is one of the most successful and respected MLS programs in the nation. This reputation is based on the fact that our certification scores are consistently among the highest of more than 200 programs nationwide. We contribute our success to our small class sizes, individual instruction, committed faculty and our new state-of-the-art facility. We are strongly committed to providing students with the best educational experience possible.

The program is based in Mercy Integrated Laboratories on the campus of Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. This state-of-the-art laboratory opened in March of 2000 and services Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center, Mercy Health – St. Anne and Mercy Health – St. Charles in addition to outreach, outpatient and long-term care facilities throughout the region. The lab employs approximately 200 professionals to perform more than 3.2 million tests a year. In 2023, we added a clinical experience location at Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. A limited number of students will complete all didactic lessons via live Zoom with us at St. Vincent’s while completing their clinical laboratory experience on site at St. Rita’s in Lima.
