Donald Kline

President and Chief Executive Officer, Mercy Health – Youngstown and President, Mercy Health Physicians – Youngstown

Donald Kline is president and CEO of Mercy Health – Youngstown. He is responsible for the Youngstown region including all hospital and ambulatory operations. He also oversees the physician enterprise. Don is committed to providing inspirational and effective leadership while administering, directing and coordinating all activities of Mercy Health – Youngstown toward the fulfillment of the organization’s values, Mission and strategy, as well as the achievement of its annual goals and objectives. Previously, Don served as interim chief operating officer of Mercy Health – Cincinnati. In that role, he was accountable for operations, placing a strong emphasis on quality, patient experience, physician relations and business development.
 
Don has more than 28 years of healthcare experience, eight of which have been with Mercy Health. He began his career in the organization as divisional chief financial officer for the Northern division. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer, serving all seven Mercy Health regions by providing strategic and operational support to market presidents and their senior teams. In this system role, Don was instrumental in providing leadership for operations and enhancing integration between system and markets. During his system tenure, he served as interim chief operating officer for the Cincinnati Region, co-chairing the Operations Advisory Committee and contributing as a member of the Lead the Ministry (LTM) Operations Committee.
Since joining Mercy Health, Don has served on numerous committees including the IT Strategy Committee, Physician Operations Group, Quality and Patient Safety Committee and Supply Chain Subcommittee. He has also contributed to a number of task force groups supporting operational improvements across the ministry.
 
Don earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Duquesne University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Rod Neill

Chief Operating Officer, Mercy Health Physicians – Youngstown

Rod Neill served as Director of the Wound Care Centers where he was responsible for the implementation of two hyperbaric medical centers, the creation of an in-patient wound care program, and oversaw the replacement of all the beds of the Mercy Health Youngstown Hospitals. The program was recognized by Diversified Clinical Services as one of the top three wound care programs in the country in 2007.

Since 2008, he has been responsible for operations of MHP Youngstown, first as the Director and currently as Chief Operating Officer. Neill was instrumental in the creation of the medical group board, serving as its initial President, until the appropriate physician was selected and prepared for the President role. The medical group has grown from 40 providers to over 180, with a focus on shared governance, population health, and patient satisfaction.   Sg2 recognized this progress of the medical group in 2013.

Neill graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Youngstown State University and with a Master of Science from Slippery Rock University.     

 

 

 

 

Jim Kravec, M.D., FACP

Chief Clinical Officer, Mercy Health – Youngstown

As regional chief clinical officer, Dr. James Kravec is responsible for providing physician executive leadership for the Youngstown region’s clinical enterprises, which include the hospital medical staff involved with acute care delivery, Mercy Health Physicians and Mercy Health Select. In collaboration with Regional Chief Operating Officer Don Koenig, he oversees overall Mission and strategic leadership, as well as the assurance of quality care delivery and integration for those clinical enterprises. Dr. Kravec chairs the Amazing Patient Care Council for Mercy Health – Youngstown and is a member of the system-wide Mercy Health Amazing Patient Care Council. He also represents Mercy Health as a member of the Summa Health Board in Akron.

A Youngstown native, Dr. Kravec was born at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. He graduated from Youngstown State University, earned his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and completed his residency in internal medicine at Summa Health Akron City Hospital. He is board certified in both internal medicine and hospice and palliative medicine, and he is a 2012 graduate of the Mercy Health Leadership Academy. Dr. Kravec actively practices internal medicine in the Ambulatory Care Center and is a faculty member for the internal medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

A part of Mercy Health since graduating residency in 2005, Dr. Kravec has served in various roles in Youngstown, including program director of the St. Elizabeth Youngstown Transitional Residency; associate medical director of Hospice of the Valley; president of Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown; and board member of Mercy Health Physicians. As a medical staff leader, he has served as chairman of the department of internal medicine and treasurer/secretary of the medical staff at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. At NEOMED, he has served as president of the Alumni Association, internal medicine clerkship director and section chief of general internal medicine for the department of internal medicine.
