Overview

Aquatic therapy – also called warm water therapy – is an extremely effective treatment option for people with a variety physical conditions and disabilities, and is an increasingly common rehabilitation treatment for orthopedic and sports-related injuries. Our physical therapists will lead you through a routine of structured aquatic exercises that utilize the physical properties of water to help your body heal. The water’s buoyancy reduces the effects of body weight and weight-bearing forces, allowing you to more easily perform therapeutic exercises. Aquatic therapy also increases circulation, heart rate and metabolic rate, while reducing pain, stress and blood pressure.
