The Jewish Hospital — Mercy Health Cincinnati Cancer and Cellular Therapy Center is the most advanced adult blood and bone marrow transplant program in the Tri-state. Our nationally recognized and accredited Blood Cancer Center is the place where expert treatment, compassionate care and world-class facilities meet to produce extraordinary outcomes.
Each year, thousands of people develop blood diseases, such as leukemia, Hodgkin’s disease, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and multiple myeloma that are treatable with blood stem cell or bone marrow transplants. The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health is the Tri-State leader in blood cancers and has been performing bone marrow transplants since 1993. Currently, more than 100 blood and bone marrow transplants are performed each year.
Milestone! 2000th Bone Marrow Transplant
The Cancer and Cellular Therapy Center, with more than 20 years of clinical and research expertise, performed its 2000th transplant on Friday, September 16, 2016. No other adult hospital program within a 100-mile radius of Greater Cincinnati has come close to performing as many successful transplants. The Cancer and Cellular Therapy Center is the most advanced adult blood and bone marrow transplant program in the region and its overall patient survival rates comparable to renowned centers such as MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic, Cedars Sinai and the Mayo Clinic.
Our suburban Cincinnati location provides easy access for patients and their families living in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Research protocols ensure that all patients are evaluated to receive cutting-edge treatments. And the 28-bed step-down and intensive care unit offers state-of-the-art care that minimizes stress and maximizes comfort for patients and their families.
The Jewish Hospital is among the nation's best in this field, officially recognized for overall excellence by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT). FACT accredits bone marrow transplant programs that have demonstrated an exceptional level of quality patient care.
The Jewish Hospital has also been recognized by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACOS CoC). This recognition has come in the form of accreditation with commendation from the ACOS. The ACOS CoC provides accreditation only to those facilities that have voluntarily committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. In our most recent inspection in 2013, we were especially commended on our quality nursing care, excellent compliance with cancer pathology protocols, and high clinical trial enrollments. Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health has proudly been accredited by the ACOS CoC continually since 1979.
