Mercy Health - Fairfield Hospital is Butler County’s Only Hospital to have Breast MRI Accreditation from the American College of Radiology

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that the American College of Radiology (ACR) has designated Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital as Butler County’s only hospital to earn accreditation in Breast MRI.

The ACR previously named Fairfield Hospital a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence and ACR’s Commission on Quality and Safety awarded it the gold seal based on the hospital earning accreditations for Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast Ultrasound, Mammography and Ultrasound Guided Biopsy.

“Fairfield Hospital continues to earn national recognition for the high quality care it provides patients of our breast imaging center and advanced breast care services,” said Thomas Urban, Mercy Health North Market President and CEO. “The American College of Radiology only awards our latest accreditation to hospitals that demonstrate the highest patient safety standards and imaging quality in the nation. I congratulate our imaging team in securing this honor.”

Board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field conducted peer-review evaluations in each breast imaging modality at Fairfield Hospital and determined that the hospital has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.

The ACR has also designated The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.

The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
