Mercy Health is pleased to announce Alison Avendt will join Mercy Health as president of Mercy Health - Perrysburg Hospital, effective June 19.

Alison has most recently served as chief operating officer at McLaren St. Luke’s Hospital. She will succeed Andrea Gwyn, who is currently serving in a dual role as president of both Mercy Health – St. Anne Hospital and Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital*. Andrea will focus on St. Anne Hospital as president moving forward.

Together, we look forward to future service enhancement at Perrysburg Hospital under her leadership.”

Alison has an extensive career in health care that spans more than 30 years, most recently serving as COO at McLaren St. Luke’s. Alison began her heath care career at ProMedica as a licensed occupational therapist who was board certified in pediatric therapy. She moved into administration in 1996 and held a variety of leadership roles including eight years as vice president of Operations at ProMedica Toledo Hospital and Toledo Children’s Hospital. In 2018, Alison transitioned to a senior operations advisor for HKS Inc., in Northville, Mich., where she provided strategic and master planning consulting services to healthcare clients around the country. She joined McLaren St. Luke’s in 2020.

Alison earned a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toledo.
