"Unwrapping the Holidays" Coping With Grief Virtual Workshop
Mercy Health – Fairfield Hospital presents “Unwrapping the Holidays,” a free series of virtual workshops offering strategies on coping with grief during the holidays through conversation, creative activities and educational resources. These sessions are open to everyone and not just those in faith communities. Please call Spiritual Services at 513-870-7129 to RSVP and receive Zoom workshop links.
Wrapping paper and ribbons remind us of gifts of the season, but for those who grieve, they may contain deep feelings of loss and sadness. “Unwrapping the Holidays” provides opportunities to talk about experiences of grief in a season celebrating joy. The workshop schedule follows below:
Workshop 4, Thursday, Dec. 1, 7 to 8 p.m., Plan and Over-plan: Tools for coping and how to use them – Holiday expectations can be stressful. This workshop provides opportunities and materials to assist in the assessment of activities and traditions to see if any adaptations or changes could be helpful.
The series concludes with an in-person gathering focused on Collecting Thoughts: Creative Activity, Fellowship and Blessing. Those who attend will have opportunities to creatively express what “unwrapping the holidays” means for them. The final session takes place on Thursday, Dec. 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the Hamilton Room, Fairfield Hospital, 3000 Mack Road, Fairfield, Ohio 45014.
