The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health Continues its Speaker Series at the Mayerson JCC on Wednesday, July 12 with Discussion on Palliative Care for Patients and Families

Mercy Health - Cincinnati, which provides advanced, quality, compassionate care in your neighborhood through its care network, announces that The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health’s free speaker series continues at the Mayerson JCC on Wednesday, July 12 with “Palliative care for patients and families: how comprehensive care helps manage the symptoms of a serious illness.”

 

Chronic illness is difficult to cope with – whether you’re the one receiving treatment or you’re seeing a loved one in pain. Palliative care is a specialized approach to treating the physical symptoms of a serious illness as well as the mental, emotional and spiritual concerns that accompany it.

 

Join The Jewish Hospital and Mayerson JCC as we talk about palliative care. This engaging discussion will give you a better understanding of how palliative care can improve the quality of life for patients and families. The presentation and Q&A will be led by Julie Workman, MD, director of palliative care and a family medicine specialist at The Jewish Hospital — Mercy Health.

 

The program begins at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers and refreshments, followed by the discussion and Q and A, which runs from 6-7 p.m. The Mayerson JCC is located at located at 8485 Ridge Road, Cincinnati 45236.
