Program Overview

Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center’s Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine (HPCM) fellowship is an ACGME-accredited one-year program. We are approved to accept one fellow per year. We aim to train physicians in the interdisciplinary care of patients with life-limiting illness and their families.

The mission of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship aims to train physicians in the interdisciplinary care of patients with life-limiting illness and their families The program provides the fellow with the basic and clinical knowledge, research, clinical judgment, professionalism, interpersonal skills, compassion and abilities necessary to continue to practice a long career as a leader in hospice and palliative care medicine. The curriculum focus includes the clinical and theoretical aspects of hospice and palliative medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
