Inpatient Hospice

You and your family are part of your hospice care team. Our specially trained doctors, nurses, social workers, chaplains, pharmacists, therapists, personal care aides and volunteers work with you and your doctor to develop and carry out your care plan. You and your family make all decisions and we honor your wishes.

As part of St. Rita’s Hospice, St. Rita’s Inpatient Hospice provides two kinds of care: short-term care to manage acute symptoms, and respite care for our current hospice patients to give their caregivers up to five days without care responsibilities. Our goal is to make you comfortable and support your family through your entire illness.

Coming to hospice

If you’re considering hospice care, please call to talk with one of our staff members. We can answer questions and help with the referral process.

A nurse will visit, at home or elsewhere, to assess your needs and begin to develop your care plan. St. Rita’s Inpatient Hospice may be appropriate, or it may be better for you to have hospice care at home or another location.

Paying for hospice

Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurers pay for hospice care, but you may have copays and other out-of-pocket costs. Our team will counsel you about various financial responsibilities.

St. Rita’s Inpatient Hospice is a commitment to unique needs, to families, to the sacredness of life. You’ll receive compassionate care with an emphasis on comfort and dignity. Your family will have our support, too, as we help them understand and process the changes that come with this time of life.

We’re here for you. Please call us at 419-226-9064.
