Vestibular rehabilitation is an exercise program that helps lower dizziness and balance issues, improve personal safety and increase your activity level. A referral can put you in front of one of our certified therapists that can evaluate your condition.
How it can help
Vestibular rehab is the right choice if you have:
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo, caused by loose crystals or particles in the inner ear, BPPC stands for:
- Benign – it is not life-threatening
- Paroxysmal – it comes I sudden, brief spells
- Positional – it gets triggered by certain head positions or movements, like turning over in bed
- Vertigo – a false sense of rotational movement
Vestibular weakness is a weakness in the inner ear that causes vertigo or instability not related to position changes.
Our team can work with you to learn repositioning moves (for BPPV), balance training and visual exercises. Treatment is generally once or twice a week for 2-6 weeks. A doctor’s prescription is required and insurance will pay for treatment.
