Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Classes
Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) class sessions include 3 morning or evening sessions 3 days in a row with a 4th class several weeks later. Participants will gain knowledge in self-management behaviors such as healthy eating, meal planning, exercise, testing blood sugars, taking medication correctly, reducing risk of complications, coping skills and problem solving.
At the end of session 4, class participants will have learned lifelong self-care skills that help them manage their diabetes or pre-diabetes and better meet their blood sugar and A1C targets. This leads to lowering their risk for health complications such as heart, kidney, and nervous system diseases, as well as eye and foot problems.

Class 2 of 4: Wednesday, December 11th, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
