Mercy Health Orthopaedic Surgeon Presents in Paris

Mercy Health Physician Samer S. Hasan, MD, PHD, an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, shoulders and elbows, joined colleagues from the Mayo Clinic, the Cleveland Clinic and the Hospital for Special Surgery as part of a delegation of 10 U.S. surgeons invited to give presentations at the Paris International Shoulder Course.

Over 500 surgeons from more 60 countries attended the course, which took place in Paris, France in February. 

This is the largest international course in the world devoted to shoulder replacement surgery.

Dr. Hasan gave presentations on the U.S. experience with reverse shoulder replacement surgery featuring a lateralized glenosphere and on shoulder replacement surgery in patients 40 years of age or younger.

Dr. Hasan is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of  shoulder and elbow injuries. He holds a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine, and he completed two fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery. He is a 10 year member of the American shoulder and elbow surgeons, the leading society of shoulder specialists worldwide.
