ACOs like Mercy Health Select save patients, health systems and payers, like Medicare, millions of dollars annually, aiming to provide quality care at a reduced cost.
Mercy Health Select (MHS) ACO provides high-quality care while reducing costs for its 87,450 beneficiaries in Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia through a collaboration of hospitals and providers. It was accepted to participate in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) in 2011 and has remained in the program since.
MHS participates in the Enhanced track of the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), which is the highest level of downside risk, but also shares the greatest portion of savings if successful. Since inception, Mercy Health Select has created $163 million in savings for CMS and $103 million in earned shared savings.
