MetroHealth joins largest clinically integrated network

CINCINNATI – Jan. 15, 2016 – Advanced Health Select, Ohio’s largest clinically integrated network, continues to grow with the addition of The MetroHealth System. The “network of networks” now includes more than 3,400 providers, dedicated to transforming healthcare for patients and communities.

With 250 primary care physicians, a main campus just west of downtown Cleveland and more than 20 locations, MetroHealth is an essential health system committed to providing healthcare to residents of Cuyahoga County and Northeast Ohio.

MetroHealth joins Mercy Health Select and NewHealth Collaborative, the networks operated by Mercy Health and Summa Health, in Advanced Health Select. They will continue to provide the outstanding care within their local markets guided by their distinct mission and vision. In addition, providers are linked to improve chronic care management and lower the total cost of care for patients and communities.

“The advantage of an integrated care network is that it enables collaboration among members to improve quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness for all patients within the network,” said Akram Boutros, MD, FACHE, president and CEO of The MetroHealth System. “Mercy and Summa are aligned with MetroHealth’s mission, and we look forward to collaborating with them so we can share best practices in patient care and wellness.”

Mercy Health and Summa Health are investing more than $100 million over three years in Advanced Health Select, creating solutions including care coordination at every point in a patient’s healthcare journey. Advanced data analytics and technology support will make it more sustainable, efficient and effective than other partnerships around the country.

Advanced Health Select is positioned to grow. Employers, insurers and health systems looking for more value from their healthcare investment will benefit from the services provided to them by Advanced Health Select, as well as the opportunity to partner with Ohio’s leading provider networks to make patients’ lives better and improve the health of Ohio communities. For communities, Advanced Health Select offers a new approach to healthcare embracing the “Triple Aim” – better care and better community health, at lower cost.

“We are determined to expand Advanced Health Select to provide high-quality care to patients throughout Ohio and Kentucky,” said Brent Asplin, MD, chief clinical officer at Mercy Health and president of Advanced Health Select. “We are delighted to welcome MetroHealth into Ohio’s largest clinically integrated network. Together, we will better manage care for large populations, making lives better and making healthcare easier.”
