A recent report from Becker’s Hospital Review recognized Marcum & Wallace Memorial Hospital (MWMH) for having the cleanest patient rooms, as reported by patients. The data for the report was pulled from the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) Hospital Compare site that compiles patient satisfaction surveys. The surveys showed MWMH was above the national average rate (74 percent) for patients reporting their room and bathroom were “always” clean. MWMH patient satisfaction surveys reported 89 percent. Of the 59 hospitals listed across the United States, only two Kentucky hospitals made the list.

“Our hospitality team really takes pride in their work and recognizes the importance of cleanliness to our patients,” said Tina Hix, MWMH Hospitality and Infection Control Director. “A clean room truly impacts the patient experience, as it helps prevent the spread of disease and makes a difference for how the patient and their family view the hospital.”

“This recognition means even more because it is feedback from our patients,” said Susan Starling, MWMH President & CEO. “Our Hospitality Team works hard to set us apart from other healthcare facilities. I’m proud of this national recognition.”
