More than 300 Mercy Health employees pledged to support Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes annual employee giving drive to benefit patients, co-workers, programs and patient care projects at the hospital. The fund drive, dubbed Mercy Strong, raised over $150, 000 through donations of payroll deductions, cash gifts and unused vacation time.
Funds raised during the Mercy Strong Campaign are used to meet critical needs for hundreds of indigent patients who cannot afford medication, a cab ride home, or other needed medical equipment. This year alone, over 450 patients have received help with these basic needs. Many other programs like women’s services, heart and vascular care and Lourdes Hospice are also supported through this effort.
“The quality care that Mercy Health employees deliver makes it possible to extend our healthcare ministry to the entire region,” says Jessica Toren, President, Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes. “We are grateful for the personal choice they have made to help provide an essential safety net for people who come to us in need of compassionate and quality care, regardless of their ability to pay.”
