Women Rate Mercy Health - Youngstown Among Nation’s Best

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO (May 18, 2017) – Women continue to have a high level of engagement in healthcare decisions, both for themselves and their loved ones. And they recently rated Mercy Health - Youngstown's three hospitals among the best in the nation.

St. Elizabeth Youngstown, St. Elizabeth Boardman and St. Joseph Warren hospitals collectively earned six 2017 Women’s Choice Awards. The awards were formally presented during a ceremony last night.

The Women’s Choice Award® is a trusted referral source, intended to empower women to make smart healthcare choices by identifying the country’s best healthcare institutions. The awards are based on robust criteria that consider female patient satisfaction, overall experience and clinical excellence. The methodology for award selection combines the most recent publicly available information from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, accreditation information from multiple sources, data about female recommendations based on patient feedback, and insight about which measures are most important to women.

Donald Kline, president and chief executive officer for Mercy Health - Youngstown, said the awards validate Mercy Health’s work toward its vision in the Mahoning Valley.

“We’re proud of and grateful for the recognition our hospitals received in this year’s Women’s Choice Award program,” Kline said. “These types of programs, which are driven by feedback and recommendations from patients, validate that we’re doing what we need to do to realize our vision of being the place where patients want to come for care, physicians want to practice and employees want to work in the Mahoning Valley.”

It allows women to choose with confidence, knowing that other women within their communities and across America have tried and experienced a brand or service and would highly recommend it to their family and friends.”
