Visitor Guidelines

To ensure your privacy and to decrease crowding in the emergency treatment area, the number of visitors will be determined by the nurse and physician. For children under the age of 12, both parents/guardians are encouraged to stay with their child.

Certain patients, especially those with language barriers or children, will need a family member with them in the room at all times. If an emergency develops or the area becomes crowded, most visitors will be asked to step out into the waiting area. Visitors may visit the patient again when the situation is resolved. Emergency personnel make every effort to keep visitors informed of the patient's condition during their stay.

To keep ER staff free for patient care, we recommend that a family member or loved one calls relatives and informs them of the patient's condition. This reduces the amount of phone calls directed to the treatment area, diverting staff from patient care to answer phone calls.
