Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center is pleased to announce the 2024 Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Scholarship Program is now accepting applications. The program allocates 12 one-time $1,500 scholarships to high achieving graduating high school seniors who plan to major in a medical-related field of study. In addition to being awarded financial support, the St. Rita’s team also makes great connections with students and their families so that we can be a resource throughout the students’ college career.

To be eligible, students must be graduating from a high school located in Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Hancock, Logan, Mercer, Paulding, Putnam, Shelby or Van Wert counties in Ohio. To be considered, students graduating in the spring must submit the Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Scholarship application, an official high school transcript including ACT or SAT scores, and a 1-2 page essay answering the question: “Why I believe that this is what I was meant to do.” Be sure to include your name at the top of each page.

“Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center is proud to offer this scholarship program each year, which recognizes bright young talent looking to enter the health care industry and make a difference,” said Ronda Lehman, president, Mercy Health - Lima. “Working in health care is not just a job or a career, but it’s truly a calling and we look forward to fostering those who have an interest in pursuing careers in the field.”

The deadline for submission of all application materials is Friday, February 23 at 4 p.m. Completed application packets may be mailed to the following address or dropped off at the main desk at the entrance of St. Rita’s Medical Center.
