Mercy Health Foundation – Greater Lima will be hosting its seventh annual Red Door Gala benefitting Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center on Thursday, June 11th. Proceeds from this year’s event will support the opening of a new Adolescent Behavioral Health Outpatient Partial Hospitalization Program, addressing a critical gap in care for youth across the region.
Located at 969 North St., the new facility will provide structured, intensive support for adolescents who need more than outpatient services but do not require full hospitalization. The program is designed to allow adolescents to remain connected to their daily routines at home and school while receiving the care they need.
“The new Adolescent Behavioral Health Outpatient Partial Hospitalization Program represents a significant step forward in meeting a growing need in our community,” said Sara Ambroza, president, Mercy Health Foundation – Greater Lima. “Families in our region have too often had to travel outside of Lima to access this level of care. By bringing these services closer to home, we are filling a critical gap and ensuring that youth can receive the support they need while staying connected to their families, schools and support systems.”
During the formal program, the Foundation will present the Mercy Club Award. The award honors those who provide support to Mercy Health – St. Rita’s, as well as those who make a significant impact in our community. Mercy Club is the Foundation’s annual giving club established in 1977.
The Red Door Gala originated with the 100th anniversary of Mercy Health - St. Rita’s in 2018 and is inspired by the poem, “The Door of Mercy,” which was written by Sister Mary Wickham, a Sister of Mercy.
“Events like the Red Door Gala play an important role in strengthening the health of our community,” said Ronda Lehman, president, Mercy Health – Lima. “This new facility will be a tremendous resource for families across the region, helping us meet an urgent need for adolescent behavioral health services. It allows us to expand access to care locally and better support the well-being of our youth, now and into the future.”
The Red Door Gala will be held Thursday, June 11th, at Veterans Memorial Civic & Convention Center, 7 Town Square. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/mhrdg2026. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with a formal program beginning at 7:30 p.m. Please note this is a ticketed event.
