Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes hosted an open house and blessing for its newly renovated pediatric rooms. The renovations include new lighting, HVAC units, bathrooms, parent-friendly furniture and flat screen televisions.

“We are so grateful to the Foundation and its donors for providing us with this necessary renovation,” says Eliza Hill, Mercy Health Fourth Floor Nurse Manager. “ Sometimes it can be scary for children to go to the hospital. Our new rooms can help calm those fears in a child-friendly, home-like environment. ”

The Slone family and their two-year-old son, Grayson, were the first family to utilize the newly renovated pediatric rooms.

“My son didn’t even know he was sick,” says Lindsay Slone. “The kindness shown to our family made our stay feel less like a hospital admission and more like a weekend stay with family, despite the circumstances.”

Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes, Charity League of Paducah, Ray & Kay Eckstein Charitable Trust and proceeds from Mardi Gras and All That Jazz helped fund this project.
