Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes recently received a $191,800 grant from the Carson-Myre Charitable Foundation. The grant assists Mercy Health Hospice and Palliative Care in Paducah by funding a spiritual care counselor in palliative care at the hospital and a hospice spiritual counselor at The Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. The counselors provide spiritual support for the patient and family in order to improve quality of life.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Carson-Myre Foundation for allowing Lourdes Hospice to continue ministering to the spiritual needs of patients suffering from chronic and serious illness,” says Kay Williams, Director of HomeCare/Hospice/Palliative Care.  “We have served over 470 patients in the last year at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center and over 800 patients in palliative care.  This grant will allow hospice and palliative care to continue its faith-based ministry outreach.”
