The first-ever Mercy Health Scrubs Society class has graduated. Participants in the Scrubs Society attended their graduation ceremony as part of the 18th annual Mardi Gras and All That Jazz event.
The Mercy Health Scrubs Society is a program of Mercy Health Foundation Lourdes to provide community leaders the opportunity to learn more about Mercy Health — Lourdes Hospital. Class members met monthly for four months to participate in interactive, focused sessions that included behind-the-scenes and hands-on experience at Mercy Health. The program also offered access to physicians and administration for open dialogue. The goal of the Scrubs Society is to provide participants a deeper understanding of healthcare and Mercy Health.

Graduation at the 18th annual Mardi Gras and All That Jazz event included each participant receiving a pair of personalized scrubs. More than 300 individuals attended the annual Mardi Gras event, which has raised more than one million dollars during its lifetime. The event took place at the Carson Center and featured music by Lew Jetton & 61 South, dancing and Cajun cuisine from more than 20 local restaurants and vendors. Mardi Gras and All That Jazz supports Mercy Health — Lourdes Hospital through improvements and upgrades of its facilities and services. At the event, attendee Dana McGowan won a trip for two to New Orleans.
