The American Cancer Society has generously donated $7,500 in emergency funding to help Mercy Health cancer patients impacted by the tornadoes to continue their cancer care.
“We want to make sure that our cancer patients currently in treatment can continue to receive this important care, and we are very grateful to the American Cancer Society for this generous donation and their leadership in helping and protecting cancer patients in our area,” said Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital Oncology Service Line Director John Montville. “Our practice managers are calling patients with upcoming appointments to determine which ones may need help with transportation and lodging.”
This program is focused on helping patients in active care for cancer who have been impacted by the recent tornado and are having challenges getting to their cancer appointments or getting planned cancer care.
This includes cancer patients of Mercy Health – Paducah Medical Oncology and Hematology, any cancer patient of Mercy Health, such as patients undergoing cancer surgery and area cancer patients affected by the tornado.
Mercy Health – Lourdes Oncology is reviewing its cancer patients and reaching out to cancer patients in the affected areas.
