Jamie Houseman, who has served in various leadership roles in the Mercy Health system for more than 18 years, has accepted the newly designed position of President of Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana.
After starting her career in Cincinnati, Jamie came to this region in 2004 to become Executive Director of Oakwood Village. In 2013 she added the role of Director of Operations for Senior Health & Housing in Ohio and Kentucky. She has been responsible for six senior housing campus operations with approximately 1,000 beds and 900 employees.
She has maintained her leadership position at Oakwood Village, the 300-bed continuing care retirement community in Springfield that includes cottages, independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing. She has overseen 14 departments with approximately 240 employees. Oakwood Village has achieved several quality awards during her tenure, including CMS 5 Star rating and currently the top facility for resident satisfaction in Clark County. With her guidance, Oakwood Village experienced growth that included a new 30-bed all-private room transitional care unit and 16 assisted-living memory care apartments.
Jamie served as interim administrator in various time periods for Mercy McAuley Center in Urbana and the former Mercy St. John’s Center in Springfield.
She is a graduate of Wilmington College and earned her Masters of Health Services Administration from Xavier University. She and her husband Tim have three boys, Cole, Cade and Cody. When she’s not at work, you will likely find her at a football field, basketball court or a baseball field.
Champaign County is one of Mercy Health’s top priorities, and Jamie will now play an integral role in developing and carrying out those initiatives.
