Mercy Health — Springfield is expanding access to specialty care in the Fairborn community with the relocation of orthopedic services and the addition of neurosurgery and women’s health services at a satellite office inside Fairborn Family Medicine.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Chris Malone and physician assistant David Comer will relocate their practice from Enon to 7774 Dayton Springfield Road, Suite C, in Fairborn. Malone will begin seeing patients at the new location on June 1, while Comer’s first day will be June 10. Orthopedic services at the new location will be available Mondays and every other Wednesday. Orthopedic patients can schedule appointments by calling 937-523-9850.
Mercy Health is also expanding neurosurgery services in the region through Dr. Michael Verdon, who will begin seeing patients at the Fairborn office June 3. Verdon will be on site at this location every other Wednesday. He’ll also become the second provider to see patients at Mercy Health – Dayton Neurosurgery on Woodman Drive in Dayton this month. Neurosurgery patients can call 937-523-9980 for more information or to schedule care.
Additionally, Mercy Health will add women’s health services beginning June 25 through Mercy Health - Fairborn Obstetrics and Gynecology, a satellite office operating within the existing Fairborn Family Medicine practice. Ruth Xue, APRN-CNP, will provide women’s health care services including preventive and reproductive care at this location on Thursdays. Women’s health patients can call 937-399-7100 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
These additional providers and service offerings will support growing demand for specialty care in communities where the health system already has an established primary care presence, including Enon and Fairborn.
“This expansion is about making specialty care more accessible and more connected for the Fairborn community,” said Candy Myers, Mercy Health – Springfield’s director of specialty services. “Patients will benefit from having orthopedic, neurosurgery, primary care, and women’s health services all in one familiar location, helping streamline their care journey from diagnosis through treatment.”
