With the goal of providing the highest level of neurological care throughout the region, Mercy Health is pleased to announce continued investment in the neuroscience program, including an expansion of space and relocation of specialties at the Mercy Health – Neuroscience Institute.

A recent $19.1 million renovation and expansion project at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center focused on creating a more seamless patient experience and included the addition of collaborative spaces for our multidisciplinary team of experts. Additionally, the space was modified to better position St. Vincent as a centralized location for Mercy Health’s many convenient access points, including eight outpatient neuroscience locations and seven region hospitals.

The Mercy Health - Neuroscience Institute offers access to a comprehensive range of neurological specialties, including neurosurgery, neuroendovascular care, and inpatient neurology as well as a dedicated Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Also located within the Neuroscience Institute is a16-bed Neuro ICU staffed with board-certified neuro-intensivists, which is designed to provide patients with a private, comfortable, and specialized environment for treatment and recovery.

Through a combination of expertise and cutting-edge technology, including minimally invasive neurosurgery, the Mercy Health – Neuroscience Institute offers the community a singular location for treatment of the entire spectrum of neurological conditions, from strokes to tumors of the brain and spine and from head injuries to aneurysms and headaches.

Each year, more than fifty million Americans will experience a disorder of the brain or nervous system.
