Mercy Health is pleased to announce Toni Green-Cheatwood DO, MBA, FACOS has joined Mercy Health as chief clinical officer of the Toledo Market. She has assumed the role that was vacated when Dr. James Tita retired April 1.
Dr. Green-Cheatwood brings an extensive and accomplished clinical background as a breast surgeon as well as 13 years of health system leadership to the position.

Dr. Green-Cheatwood comes to Mercy Health from Intermountain Health, the largest nonprofit health system in the Mountain West, with 34 hospitals, serving patients in Colorado, Utah, Montana, Nevada, Idaho and Wyoming. Most recently, she served in a dual role as chief medical officer at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, with regionwide responsibilities as associate chief medical officer for Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming.
Prior to joining Intermountain, Dr. Green-Cheatwood served as group vice president and physician executive for the Greater Colorado and Kansas Operating Group of Centura Health. She served as medical director for breast oncology at Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado for nine years, and vice president of medical affairs for three years.

Dr. Green-Cheatwood received her Doctor of Osteopath degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She has completed a Multidisciplinary Breast Surgery Fellowship at Mayo Clinic and earned an Executive MBA in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver.
Mercy Health conducted an extensive nationwide search spanning several months to fill the position.
