Mercy Health – St. Rita’s Medical Center was founded in 1918 during our country’s most lethal influenza outbreak in history. Over the past century, the hospital has grown, serving generations of families in Lima, Ohio to become the largest health provider in the 10-county region and employing nearly 3,000 people.
Its comprehensive services now span the continuum of care, offering a medical center, two emergency departments, three urgent care centers, 11 family medicine offices, the Henry and Beverly Hawk Heart Institute, the Neuroscience Institute, the St. Rita’s Cancer Center, and more. This tradition of excellence will continue into our next 100 years with a focus on innovative techniques and technology, always with a commitment to care for our community now and in the years to come.
