Mercy Health – Cincinnati has named Bradley (Brad) Bertke president of Mercy Health – West Hospital effective Tuesday, July 5.

Bertke replaces Michael Kramer, current president of The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health, and Jason Asic, who served as the interim president of West Hospital before recently being named the first president of the upcoming Mercy Health – Kings Mills Hospital being built in Mason.

Bertke will be responsible for the overall operational success of West Hospital, including achieving quality goals and maximizing opportunities for growth.

“Brad comes to West Hospital with more than 25 years of health care experience, including 11 years as president of Mercy Health – St. Anne Hospital in Toledo,” said Mercy Health – Cincinnati President Dave Fikse. “We’re pleased to welcome Brad back to Cincinnati, where he served previously as chief operations officer at Clermont Hospital. His familiarity with us will be a great asset as he assumes leadership of West Hospital and I’m pleased to welcome him to our team.”

Bertke is currently the president of St. Anne Hospital, and during his tenure the hospital saw the opening of a freestanding emergency department, an open-heart surgery program, expansion into electrophysiology services and growth of the hospital’s orthopedic program. Prior to his time with Mercy Health in Toledo, Bertke was vice president and chief operations officer at Mercy Health – Clermont Hospital

Bertke earned his master’s degree in health administration from Xavier University and his bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine from the University of Dayton.
