How to Apply — Clinical Psychology Doctoral Internship at St. Rita's Medical Center

The internship site agrees to abide by the APPIC policy that no one at the site will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any application prior to Match Day. If we do not consider an applicant for an interview, we will notify them as soon as possible after we have made that decision. If we rank applicants for the Match, we will not give them information as to their place on the match list. We use the electronic application process and application that can be found on the APPIC website.

Application Requirements

All applicants must meet the following requirements:
  1. You should have completed all pre-doctoral coursework and practica before internship. We do not require that you have completed your dissertation but do prefer that applicants have proposed their dissertations.
  2. Be in good standing in a Clinical, Counseling, Health, or Neuropsychology doctoral program that is either APA accredited or listed in the National Register and remain in good standing throughout the internship.
  3. Be certified by that program’s training director as ready for internship and free from behavioral difficulties likely to interfere with the applicant’s ability to perform the duties of an intern.
  4. Have completed 1000 hours of practicum experience prior to the beginning of the internship. This is inclusive of all practicum hours (including supervision and support hours) and is not only face to face hours.
  5. Be able to read and write standard American English and be fluent in spoken English.
  6. It is expected that interns will be available for initial orientation and onboarding activities starting in the middle of June (date will vary by year).  
  7. Official clinic start date will be on (or around) July 1st of every year.

Application Deadline

All applications must be submitted by November 5. Applications will be reviewed as they are accepted. Final decisions regarding interviews will be made by December 15. Interviews will occur via Zoom on dedicated interview dates in December and January. Interviews will include a virtual tour of the medical center and clinics, along with individual interviews with faculty members and have plenty of time for applicants to ask questions.
