St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital
At Mercy Health — St. Elizabeth Youngstown, we have been training residents for more than 40 years. With several medical school affiliations and a significant stake in the education of residents and clinical students alike, we're committed to providing a high quality educational experience for hundreds of residents and students each year.
We utilize a comprehensive EMR system for outpatient and inpatient patients and have a simulation center where residents have the opportunity to learn and practice skills.
St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is a participating teaching site for Northeast Ohio Medical University, allowing current medical students from each level to spend time with residents in formal and informal capacities. Students from several other medical schools also rotate with our residents throughout the year. Residents serve as preceptors and supervise medical students in patient encounters, and in a more informal capacity, often serve as mentors.
